Mary Phan

Mary Phan lives in Sydney, Australia, with her husband and young son. Originally from Vietnam, Mary was a language teacher before retraining as a Speech Language Pathologist. She advocates for bilingualism and multilingualism within migrant communities and encourages families to embrace their home languages. As a mother of an Australian-born child raised bilingually, Mary brings both professional and personal experience to her work. ‘The Gift of Home Language’ is her first children’s picture book, written to celebrate linguistic diversity. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and painting.
